Mr. Charles Clifton Holly, age 92, Johnson City, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025, at James H. Quillen VA Community Living Center.

Mr. Holly was born in Russell County, Virginia, on March 24, 1933, to the late George W. Holley, Sr. & Fannie Elizabeth Steffey Holley. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys, Claris, & Blanche and four brothers, George, Robert, Clyde and Jack.

He was a proud United States Navy Veteran having served during the Korean War. Mr. Holly was a retired Firefighter for the City of Johnson City.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Zukas (Jimmy) and Elizabeth Fortunato (Stephen); grandchildren, Matthew “Matt” Charles Rowland (Brandy), Carrie Uebel (Allyn), and Jordan Bryant (Jenni); great-grandchildren, Brylee Elizabeth Rowland, Mille Bryant and Mae Bryant; nephew and caregiver, Keith Holley; and several nephews and nieces.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Community Living Center and to Casey Ely (home caregiver) for their wonderful loving care given to Charlie.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-1:30 PM Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Chaplain Ken Godfrey officiating.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.
