Mrs. Helen M. Franks, age 94, Jonesborough, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Franks was born on October 27, 1930, in Deer, Arkansas, to the late Lee & Mary Strait Davis. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Franks and a son, Edward Bruce Woodard.
Mrs. Franks was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesborough.
She loved to quilt and was proud of her Cherokee heritage.
Survivors include two daughters, JoAnne Morris, Jonesborough and Jane Marie Knox and wife Denise Chesler, Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Jeffrey S. Morris and partner Jessica Tingwald, Unicoi, Steven J. Morris and wife Nobuko and Elizabeth Gray and husband Andrew, Springdale, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Gavin Kruger and wife Cassidy, Knoxville, Christina Morris, and Alisha Morris, both of Los Alamitos, CA, and Sabine Morris, Johnson City; and many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at First Baptist of Jonesborough, with Dr. Lester Morelock officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service.

Helen was a welcomed "mom" to all her daughter's friends and fellow quilters. I got a lot of courage from her to act as a strong, loving Mom and Grandma. She loved the Lord and served him by serving her family. God bless her; we will never forget her.
