Mrs. Betty M. Byrd, age 81, Jonesborough, went to her heavenly home to be with Jesus, Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Byrd was born in Burnsville, NC and daughter of the late Cleve & Eunice Hill Mosier. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary E. Baskett.
She was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church.
Mrs. Byrd retired from the Johnson City Medical Center as a LPN.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Billy M. Byrd, Jonesborough; son, Charles “Eddie” Byrd, Gray; two daughters, Rita Byrd, Kingsport and Jill Byrd Cavin (Larry), Jonesborough; two grandchildren, Laura Cavin Wiggs (Lee), Gray and Preston Corey Byrd, Kingsport; one great-granddaughter, Lily Elizabeth Wiggs, Gray; two brothers, Jack Mosier (Virginia), Gray and Joe Mosier (Janice), Jonesborough; brother-in-law, Harold Baskett, Jonesborough; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. Jody Jenkins and Dr. Gene Lasley officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
Entombment services will be conducted 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Monte Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be family & friends.
