Mr. James D. Conley “JD”, age 93, Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mr. Conley was a native of Washington County and the son of the late Paul and Effie Lovegrove Conley. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter Amy Conley, brother Clyde Conley, sister-in-law, Helen Conley, and brother-in-law, Tiny Smith.
Mr. Conley was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Korean War; he was a member of the local Pipefitters Union 538 for 63 years.
Mr. Conley attended McCarty United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was currently a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was baptism at the age of 90.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Dot Conley, one son, and daughter-in-law, Mike and Janie Conley; grandchildren, Michelle and husband Sean Lewis, Wendy Garland, Whitney Garland, Jonathan Garland; great grandchildren Alyssa, Iris Conley and Isaiah Garland; sister, Margaret Smith, brother, Bob Conley and wife, Betty, niece, Gail Lewis and husband Billy, nephew, Scott Conley and wife, Joy and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Conley will be Sunday, June 23, 2019 2:00PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Brain Nuff and Rev. Garland James officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at Fairview Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Greeneville VFW Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Gary Rowland, Randy Bacon, Rod Collins, Billy Lewis, Scott Conley and Sean Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Garland, Rodger Hughes, Donnie Shipley, Eddie Gillen, Roger Cody and Chuck Shelton.

thoughtfulness and love is something that
will always be with us.He would take on the
world to show how much he cared not only for
his family but for the many friends he had
aquired over the years.We are extremely
thankful that we know he is now rejoicing
with his heavenly father and riding his
bicycle on those golden highways.
