James Michael "Mike" Brumit

10/18/2026

In loving memory of James Michael “Mike” Brumit, August 1, 1954 - October 18, 2026.

James Michael Brumit, lovingly known as Mike, entered into eternal rest peacefully at his home in Jonesborough, on October 18, 2026.

Mike was a lifetime resident of Jonesborough, Tennessee.

He was a good-hearted man who loved his family dearly. Mike had a special place in his heart for his dog, his cows, and the things he loved reflected the caring and genuine person he was. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for those closest to him, and the memories he leaves behind.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie H. Brumit and Helen Brumit Cole, and his younger brother, Jeffrey Brumit.

He is survived by his brother, Gary Brumit and sister-in-law, Debbie of Jonesborough; sister, Debbie Brumit of Gray; nephew, Adam Brumit and wife, Stephanie of Jonesborough; great niece and great nephew, Harper and Wyatt of Elizabethton, Silas Brumit of Jonesborough; and his best friend, Randy Corby of Jonesborough. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him and loved him.

A Graveside service will be held to honor and celebrate Mike’s life on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Roselawn Cemetery in Johnson City, with Rev. R.A. Thomas officiating.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 AM.

Though he is no longer with us, the love he shared and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered with love and missed more than words can express.
