Mr. William Jack Lilly, age 89, of Johnson City, passed away at the Johnson City Medical Center, on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
William was born in Greeneville, Tennessee, on March 24, 1937, to the late Thomas Jefferson Lilly and Hazel Fannon Lilly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Crawford, Blanch Kahl, Lucille Crawford, Helen Lawson, Rossetta Mortz, and Linda Stewart; brothers, Dewey Lilly, Maxie Lilly, and Ernest Lilly.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his service he worked in construction as a Pipe Fitter and Welder. He enjoyed golfing and loved spending time with his beloved cat, Snookums.
William was a wonderful husband and is survived by his wife, Delores Janet Lilly; children, Lisa Jacob and husband, Dr. Ralph Jacob of Atlanta, GA, Charles Wayne Lilly and wife, Mary Jean of Ft. Worth, TX, and Chester Lilly and wife, Karen and son, Chris of Oakdale, LA; grandchildren, Angelina Jacob, Rachael Lilly, Kaitlin Wologo (Blake and son, Gavin), and Luke Lilly; several special nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Jim Chapman officiating. Anyone who would like to go in procession to the cemetery is asked to meet at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home by 12:15 PM.
Pallbearers will be Chester Lilly, Chuck Lilly, David Usary, and Ralph Jacob.
