Mr. C.E. “Rock Hauler” Turner, age 75, of Mohawk, passed away peacefully at his home late Friday evening, September 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

C.E. was a dedicated public servant, retiring after 35 years of service with the Greene County Road Department. Throughout his career, he worked under the leadership of Jim Saulbury, Denise Fezzel, J.E. Jones, and David Weems. He deeply valued the camaraderie of his coworkers and considered everyone he worked alongside to be a true friend.

He leaves behind a rich legacy of love and family. C.E. is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Grace Jarnagin Turner; three sons, C.E. Turner Jr. (Jessica); Carroll Turner (Patricia) and Micky Turner (Paulette “Sherrie”); two daughters, Karen Turner and Sharon Turner; eleven grandchildren, Chase (Casey), Patrick, William (Tiffany), Corey, Makayla, Ashlynn (Hunter), Caroline (Walter), Emily Grace, Carl, Emily Elizabeth, and Maddux; twelve great-grandchildren, Easton, Lexy, Levi, Kinsley, Walker, Corwin, Adlyn, Gracie, Braylynn, Keegan, Harper, and Remington; his mother, Marie Turner; brothers, Lee Roy, David Turner (Shirley) Roger, Charles, and Terry; sisters, Annie, Barbra (Ralph), Brenda Tuner Crisp (Clarence Lee); God-daughter, Heather Huff.

C.E. was preceded in death by his father, Carl; brother Rober; sisters, Martha and Mary; grandparents, Lester and Annie Tuner.

In keeping his generous spirit and desire to help others, C.E.’s explicit wish was to participate in the Anatomical Gift program for medical research.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church (1965 Phillip Road, Mohawk, TN 37656) with Mr. George McCoy and Mr. Lee Gully officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, prior to the service.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his oncologist Dr. Sen; primary care physician, Dr. Claes Svendsen, and their respective staff; the staff of Gentiva; and Pastor Tanner for the compassionate care and support.
