Mr. Kenneth Lee Key, age 88, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at his residence.
Kenneth was born on November 25, 1937, in Winston County, Alabama. He worked at Kingsport Times News and at Mason Dixon. Kenneth had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Boones Creek Christian Church for nearly 70 years. He also attended Bible Study at Nottingham Church in Hilton, VA. He enjoyed the outdoors and working on his tractors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Key and Avis McLarty Key.
Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Drexie Key; son, Donald Key; daughter, Pamela Key Taylor (Tim); grandchildren, Whitney Taylor Zollman (Parker) and Matthew Taylor; great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice.
A private military graveside ceremony will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Boones Creek Christian Church in remembrance of Kenneth.
