Jimmy Lee Conkin, affectionately known as BoBo by his nieces and nephews Smantha, Grant, & Noah Hubbard, age 59, of the Fall Branch community went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was such light to all that knew him and a humble faithful follower of Christ. Jimmy loved any opportunity he was given to preach and sing and wanted to ensure the preachers that gave him that opportunity know just how much that meant to him. Jimmy spent many years driving a school bus and he loved every day he was able to spend with those sweet children. He loved his family and friends deeply and will be missed by all that had the privilege to know him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Eldridge and Alpha Cavins, special grandmother Annie Conkin, whom he loved and adored, and grandfather James Conkin.
Services will be held at Bethesda Free Will Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, with visitation from 4:00-6:00 pm followed by the service at 6:00 pm, Justin Barger and Richard Tittle officiating. Graveside services held by Danny Willis will follow directly at Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Braiden Reynolds, Grant Hubbard, Noah Hubbard, Mike Hubbard, Olin Conkin, Michael Arney, Shannon Brandon, Kyle Chalfant, John Soper, and Allen Tipton.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Conkin, David Conkin, Eddie Isley, Mentor Richard Tittle, and Pastor Justin Barger along with the members of Rock Query Fellowship church.
The family wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the sweet nurses on the east wing 3rd floor and ICU department at the Bristol Regional Medical Center for taking such wonderful care of Jimmy and the kindness they showed his family.
At Jimmys request, in lieu of flowers, donations to the funeral expenses at Dillow-Taylor would be appreciated.
