Mrs. Wilma June Pleasant Bales, age 91, Limestone, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at her residence.
Mrs. Bales was born January 3, 1935, in Washington County, Tennessee, to the late Samuel Barnett & Rosie Collins Pleasant. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles Robert “Bob” Bales, six brothers and sisters, Wanda Carter, Charlene Pleasant, Mary Carter, Wayne Pleasant, Kay Pleasant and Gary Pleasant, and four brothers-in-law, Joe Bales, J.R. Legg, Bill Mathes and Henry Carter.
She had been a member of Oakland Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 1945 and was a Sunday School Teacher.
Mrs. Bales was a housewife and farmer.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Edwards (Charlie), of the home; sons, Kent Bales, Limestone and Mike Bales (Christina), Greeneville; grandchildren, Alicia Kellis (Josh), Ellerbe, NC, Cody Edwards, Elizabethton, Jordan Edwards, Kingston, TN, Klara Bales, Nashville, TN and C.J. Bales, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Destiny Moore, Angel Moore, Joshua Kellis, Landon Kellis and Kylie Kellis; one sister, Carolyn Legg, Limestone; sisters-in-law, Velma Mathes, Piney Flats and Rita Bales, Jonesborough; and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Brandy, Kat, and Randall with Gentiva Hospice for their wonderful loving care.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM Monday, June 22, 2026, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Oakland Cemetery with Chaplain Randall Holmes and Pastor Daniel Norton officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Kellis, Charlie Edwards, C.J. Bales, Kriss Robinson, Josh Kellis and Jacob Lowman.
