Janelle Joyce (Carr) Onks passed away June 8, 2026, at the age of 100. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Nola Carr and sister of John Carr (Claire), Jim Carr (Doris), and the late Judy Claxton (Doug.)
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert “Bob” Parker, KIA in Korea in 1950. Janelle and Chester Onks were married in 1956 until his death in 2010.
Janelle is survived by her three children, Matthew (Mavis), Lisa, and Kurt (Stacy.) She was the beloved “Grandy” of Cheston, Nathan, and Ethan; a precious aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service for the immediate family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Fairhaven UMC, 3131 W. Walnut Street, JC, TN 37604.
Janelle’s family would like to thank the staff of NHC Healthcare and Caris Healthcare for their dedication and hard work over the past eight years.
