Mr. Benjamin Michael “Mike” Seaton, Jr. age 79, Greeneville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, June 5, 2026, at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Seaton was born in Greene County, Tennessee on November 12, 1946, to the late Ben & Rosa Lea Ferguson Seaton. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and was loved by all who knew him. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Brenda Austin Seaton, sister, Susan Marie Galiane, paternal grandparents, George & Nellie McCoy Seaton, maternal grandparents, James Harvey & Nora Babb Ferguson, father and mother-in-law, Onnie & Charlotte Austin, nephew, Brian Crawford, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church in Kingsport, Tennessee and attended Kingsley Avenue Free Will Baptist Church in Greeneville as long as his health permitted. He enjoyed going to church, playing the piano and singing.
He was a 1969 graduate of North Greene High School. He retired from Kingsport Press after 25 years of service. He enjoyed watching UT Lady Vols basketball.
He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include three sons, Mike Seaton, III and wife Karen, Matthew Seaton and girlfriend Mary Gordon and Brent “Marty” Seaton; grandchildren, Brayden Seaton, Koah Seaton, Wesley Burgess (Debra), Hannah Bolden (James), and Sarah Burgess; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Lister and Linda Neal; two brothers, George Seaton and wife JoAnne and Steve Seaton; sisters-in-law, Barbara Morgan and Billie J. Reece (Harold); brother-in-law, Dan Galiane; special church friends at Higher Ground & Kingsley Avenue, and Robert Marshall that was like a brother to his sons; and several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Gentry and Pastor Tim Roach officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service
