June S. “Mamaw” Eller, age 96, of Johnson City, left NHC Healthcare in Johnson City on June 2, 2025, and crossed the River of Jordan where she was met by her Lord and Savior and by “Papaw” Jack. Born on March 24, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Elizabeth Watson Sanders.

After attending Steed College, June worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in Johnson City before dedicating herself to caring for her mother. Her caring nature and servant’s heart would continue throughout her life as she lovingly cared for family members in their times of need.

“Mamaw” was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 72 years, Jack Eller, who passed away in 2023. The two were married in 1950 and shared a lifetime of love, faith, and devotion to family. She was also preceded in death by all of her siblings: Fred, Frank, and Bill Sanders, Mary Grimm, Rhoda Penix, and Betty Sanders.

June was the oldest living member of Southwestern Baptist Church at the time of her passing. She was known for her caring and selfless spirit, having lovingly cared for her mother as well as four of Jack’s siblings prior to their passing. Her life was a true example of quiet strength, compassion, and dedication to those she loved.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Kevin Eller and wife Suzanne; grandson, Corben Eller; granddaughter, Hannah Smith and husband Austin; treasured great-granddaughter, Molly Smith, special niece, Ruth Ann Bruner and husband Danny, special nephew, Greg Sanders and wife Angie as well as several other nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to caregivers Ginny McGhee and Betty Malone, along with her special CNA, Shannon Locke as well as the rest of the staff of NHC Healthcare and Caris Hospice, for the compassionate care and kindness shown to June and her family.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 10AM on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Mountain Home National Cemetery, officiated by Dr. Phil Hoskins and Pastor Paul Warrick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to West Carter County Fire Department, PO Box 31 Milligan College TN 37682.
