Mrs. Vickey Barnes Broyles, age 79, Jonesborough, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Broyles was born in Johnson City on August 13, 1946, to the late John William & Frances Margarite Smith Barnes. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kelle’ Fonseca.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Mrs. Broyles was a Board Member of Northeast Community Credit Union for many years. She loved to travel and spend time with family.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Broyles, Jonesborough; son, Michael Broyles (Melissa) Murfreesboro, TN; daughter, Lesley Howell (Michael) Jonesborough; two brothers and two sisters; and several very special grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Collier officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday prior to the service.
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Vickey from Science Hill. She was always pleasant and nice to be around. Such a wonderful person. Class of 1964.

I am so very heartbroken over the loss of Vickey. She was a source of strength and truly a pillar in the family. I’m not even sure I can find the right words to express my thoughts.
She was such a wonderful “mother” to me while I was a part of this family for a great long time. I’m so grateful that Jesus allowed me not too long ago to share that with her " and to tell her how much I love her, and how very special she will always be to me.
I cannot imagine the depth of pain all of this family is feeling right now, knowing how heavy my own heart feels.
Please know I am lifting the entire family up to Jesus, and I trust He will help carry all
of you through the difficult days ahead.
