Mrs. Janice Wines, age 76, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at her residence.
Mrs. Wines was born on August 28, 1949, in Jonesborough, to the late Jess & Dottie Joe Browder Gregg. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Don Robert Wines, brothers, Leroy Gregg, Donald Gregg, and Freddie Gregg and two sisters, Kathy Williams and Nora Gregg.
She was a member of Boring Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Hergeg, Jonesborough and Lisa Stacy, Kingsport; a brother, James Gregg (Pauline), Blountville; sisters, Lizzie McMurray, Essie Presnell (Ancel) and Carolyn Allen, Jonesborough, all of Jonesborough; two grandchildren, Rosie Stacy and Cain Mooney; one great-grandchild, Hollie Sue Stacy; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, May 22, 2026, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Bailey and Rev. Shean Hobbs officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00 PM Friday prior to the service. Graveside service will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
So sorry to hear about aunt Janice‘s passing. I loved her. She was always so good to me her and Donnie both was she was my favorite Sunday school teacher and I know she’s in a better place Lisa you’re in my thoughts and prayers. Love you, Cuz.
