Mr. Russell Douglas “Russ” Godsey, age 72, Jonesborough, was welcomed into heaven on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, by his parents, Martha Beals, Jack Godsey and his brother, David Godsey.
He was born in Johnson City TN on February 27, 1954.
Throughout his years he was an electrician and he served in the Navy for many years.
Russ was loved by all that knew him.
He leaves behind a wonderful son, Russell Dye (Ginger Dye); grandchildren, Marcus and Hunter Dye, Michaela McCusker; and many great grandchildren; daughter, Katherine Martin; very special best friends, Alicia and Brandon Smith, Nellie Smith, Billie Callahan, Makayla Fleming, Jaden and Brandie Smith.
Dinners and cookouts at the house will never be the same. Go rest high buddy.
Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service.
Graveside services will be conducted at Mountain Home National Cemetery at a later date.
