Joyce (Gigi) Montgomery Pardue age 78, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 4th, 2026.
Joyce was born to Pauline and Harry Montgomery on September 15th, 1947. She graduated from Science Hill Highschool in 1965. In 1966 she married the love of her life, Tom Pardue, beginning a beautiful marriage that spanned nearly 60 years; filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Together, they raised two daughters.
Joyce lived a life rooted in faith, service, and community. She was a devoted member of Jonesborough United Methodist Church, where she served for many years as the church secretary. Through her work and her presence, she touched many lives with her kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit. She was also a longstanding member of the Jonesborough Schubert Club and took great pride in supporting her community and preserving the rich heritage of Jonesborough.
Joyce had a deep love for gardening and spent countless hours tending to her flowers, creating spaces of beauty that reflected her nurturing heart. Known as “Gigi”, she cherished her role as a grandmother above all else, finding joy in time spent with her granddaughters, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered for her grace, her servant’s heart, and the deep love she had for her family and friends.
Joyce is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Tom Pardue; her daughters Renee McNees (Tom) and Erin Gilham; and granddaughters Hannah, Delaney, and Cora Gilham. Also surviving are her sweet sisters Jean Conger (Joel), Kay Clayton, and Ann Goldstine (Richard).
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Pauline and Harry Montgomery, and her son-in-law, Scott Gilham.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at NHC Johnson City for the wonderful and loving care they provided.
Memorial services will be conducted 6:00 PM, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Jonesborough United Methodist Church with Dr. Michael Lester officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
