Mr. Carlos Peterson, age 87, Telford, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Peterson was born April 4, 1938, in Washington County, Tennessee to the late Neil and Fay Bolton Peterson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Loyd Peterson and son-in-law Clinton French.

Mr. Peterson retired from TDOT. He was an active member of the Lamar Ruritan Club. He held various offices at the local and district level. In 2021, he became a Ruritan Forever member. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR.

He was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter Beth Peterson French; brother, Jim Peterson (Connie); and several nephews and nieces. A very special friend of 23 years to Carlos and the family, Margaret Runion.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Mayberry-Vincent Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Dykes officiating. Friends are invited to pay respects at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Friday, March 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM and Saturday morning prior to the graveside.

The pallbearers will be Jeff Peterson, Tyler Peterson, Wes Byrd, Rick Runion, Tim Runion, and Vipul Nishawala. Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty Bailey and Johnny Mashburn.
