Mary Alice Hurst (née Robinson), 84, of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away on February 4, 2026.

Born May 24, 1941, in Tennessee, Alice was the daughter of Mitchell Robinson and Ethel Mae Berry. She earned her Bachelor's degree and dedicated her career to education, teaching Computer Science and Mathematics at Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tennessee. A gifted educator, her Computer Science students earned numerous state-level awards for excellence, a testament to her skill and commitment in the classroom.

Alice was a devout Christian who attended church faithfully for as long as she was able. She was dedicated to her family, her faith, and her friends. She loved the outdoors, camping, hiking, and gardening brought her joy. A cherished family tradition was the yearly camping trips to Disney World, creating memories that will live on in those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Colonel Lowell J Hurst (US Army Reserve), in 2010; her parents; her brothers Harley, Conda, and Richard; and her sister Irene.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Webb and husband Mike; her son, Dennis Hurst and wife Susan; three grandchildren, Hannah, Jake, and Macey; her brother Jerry; and her sister Marie.

A graveside service will be held on March 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mountain Home VA National Cemetery in Johnson City, Tennessee, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband. Those wishing to attend should gather at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home in Jonesborough, Tennessee, no later than 10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boones Creek Christian Church in Johnson City, Tennessee, or to Wreaths Across America (wreathsacrossamerica.org).
