Mr. Peter Hayner, age 77, of Jonesborough, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

He was born in Buffalo, New York on September 22, 1948.

Peter proudly served his country for 34 years in the United States Army. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and traveling.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lahoma Hayner; step-children, Jalta Baird, Jeremy Carreon, and Joshua Carreon; sister, Patricia Setter (Bill); sister-in-law, Leona Todd (Anthony); brother-in-law, Daniel Wood (Ruth); 6 grandchildren; niece, Jen Setter; nephew, Jesse Setter; his baby girl, (dog) Ginger.

A Graveside Service with military honors will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Minister Tony Hoss officiating. Prior to the graveside a visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 PM, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Cody Baird, Jeremy Carreon, Anthony Todd and Curtis Todd.
