Mr. Hurlbert Norman Bailey, age 87, of Telford, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, at his home.

Mr. Bailey was born in Washington County, Tennessee, on June 20, 1938, to the late Geter & Thelma Green Bailey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Viola “Sissy” Bailey.

He was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Bailey retired from the Tennessee Highway Department and spent his life working on his farm.

Survivors include a son, Scotty Bailey (Carla Waddell) of Erwin; sister, Jane Miller of Telford; Mason Noah, who he thought of as a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM, on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Mr. Bill Murr officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, prior to the service. Graveside Services will follow at Mayberry-Vincent Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Peterson, Tyler Peterson, Richard Chandley, Dale Bacon, Dalton Bacon, Chad Sanders, and Jamie Arrowood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Little, Pete Ferguson, neighbors and friends.
