Mr. Robert W. “Bobby” Hensley, age 77, Morganton, NC, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at UNC Health Blue Ridge Hospital from a lengthy illness.

Mr. Hensley was born in Washington County, Tennessee on June 20, 1948, to Bonda Johnson Hensley, Jonesborough and the late William “Bill” Hensley. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Hensley, and two sisters, Pat McCracken and Cathy Lowe.

He was a United States Marine Veteran.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Kimberly McCormick Hensley, Morganton, NC; son, Bobby Hensley (Arty), Morganton; stepson, Alan Moody (Brandy) Morganton; grandchildren, Keenan Edwards, James Moody and Keira Moody; three brothers, Dale Hensley, Jackie Hensley (Penny) and Tim Hensley (Darlene); three sisters, Judy Royston, Susan Kyker (Danny) and Velma Briggs (Gary); and several nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Mountain Home National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
