
Ms. Janice Ayers Moore, age 71, of Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at her home.
She was born in Washington County on June 10, 1954, to the late John and Dorothy Bible Ayers.
Janice received her Master’s degree from East Tennessee State University and retired from Greeneville High School where she taught Special Education. Janice loved to travel especially to the beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Buck Ayers, Gene Ayers, and Phil Ayers.
She is survived by her son, Donnie Moore of Johnson City; grandson, Eric Peoples of Erwin; sister, Charlotte Clevinger and husband, Red of Kingsport; brothers, Clyde Ayers, Floyd Ayers and Kenny Ayers.
Janice and I were in school together. She was so sweet. Prayers for her family.
Sorry for the loss of Janice. We all grew up and played together in Telford. I always loved the family. Prayers for the families.

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Janice. I grew up in Telford with her and went to school with her and some of her brothers. I was in the class and grade with her brother Phil. My prayers are with her Family.
