Mrs. Leah Ann Hines, aged 84, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, passed away at her home on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

She was born on November 3, 1941, in Pinetown, North Carolina, to the late Ronald Armstead Linton, Sr. and Lillian Carlotta Linton, born Lillian Carlotta Keech. During her working life, she resided in Chesapeake, Virginia, where she retired and moved to North Carolina, Nevada and finally, Tennessee.

Leah spent 30+ years as an Account Clerk for the Streets and Highways Division of the City of Chesapeake in Virginia. She was a devoted woman of faith who loved the Lord and was a member of the Baptist church. She was a talented musician who shared her gifts by playing both the organ and the piano in church. Music was one of the many ways she expressed her love and devotion. Leah was known for her kind and generous heart. She constantly looked out for others and always made sure everyone was cared for, especially that no one ever went hungry. Her compassion, selflessness, and quiet acts of love left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Leah was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hines and her brother, Ronald A. Linton, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jeffrey Stacey and his wife, Michelle, of Henderson, Nevada; granddaughter, Kyrstin Fierst and her husband, Zachary; great-granddaughters, Anastasia and Athena Fierst; brother, William Linton and his wife, Dorothy; friend and caretaker, Nancy Gamage.

Leah will be laid to rest in the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.

She was the best mother a son could ever have. I will miss her comforting voice, but she will forever be in my heart.
