Mr. James A. Causey, age 75, of Jonesborough, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born on November 11, 1950, to the late Charles A. & Josie Causey in Bakersville, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Causey Lones and his brother, Charles H. “Bud” Causey.
He was a loving husband, father and poppy. James proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a graduate of Jonesborough High School and he retired from Mountain Empire Oil Company.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Carol Ann Miller Causey; daughter, Christa Causey Statzer; granddaughter, Hannah Statzer; brother, TJ Causey (Tammy); sister-in-law, Jenny Causey; brother-in-law, Jerry Miller (Teresa); sister-in-law, Kim Williams (Craig); several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Pete Tackett officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Veterans Honor Guard of The Tri-Cities. Family and friends are requested to meet at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home at 12:15 PM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.

My wife Linda was friends with James and Carol Ann before I met Linda. I did not know James so much but I could tell Loved you both. If there is anything I can do like fixing or giving some attention to a problem let me help. I know Linda needed a little help after her first husband Jerry Andrews passed.
I am so sorry to hear of James's passing. The entire Causey family has had a special place in my heart for so many years. Love and prayers for you all.
