Mr. David “Dave” Charles Murr, age 71, of Jonesborough, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 23, 1954, to the late Charles and Sylvia Bowman Murr, in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Dave will be remembered as a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved nothing more than being in the woods hunting or out fishing. He cherished every moment surrounded by his family and his love for all his animals was evident. Known for his knack for wheeling and dealing, Dave approached life with enthusiasm, humor, and a genuine love for interacting with others.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his daughter, Joey K. Murr; sister, Lorrie Williams; brothers, Rick Murr and Andy Murr; special friend, Chic Mahan.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debra Murr; sons, Marty Murr (Tabitha) and Tavis “Tater” Murr (Christy); grandchildren, Alex Murr, Caleb Murr, Morgan Cole (Josh), and Jordan Varner (Charles); six great-grandchildren; brother, Jeff Murr (Starr); special nieces and nephews, Allen and Brooke Williams and Missy and Todd Blair; several additional nieces and nephews; and a very special congregation of many precious friends at Abounding Grace Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Abounding Grace Baptist Church located at 1775 Old State Route 34, Telford, TN with Pastor Greg Poe, Pastor Butch Stout, and Pastor Josh Edens officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, prior to the service.
Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, December 11, 2025, at McCarty Cemetery. Anyone who wishes to go in procession to the graveside is asked to meet at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home by 11:30 AM.
Pallbearers will be Matt Barnett, Sam Collins, Bobby Keller, Butch Taylor, Justus Foran, Caleb Murr, Alex Murr, JR Ensor, Nick Nickels, Allen Williams, Bryan Barnett, and Dalton Hilton.
A very special thank you to Candice Greenlee, Deanna France, and Brooke Williams who lovingly took care of Dave and the family over the past several weeks.
