Mrs. Linda “Susan” Gossett, age 71, of Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

She was born on September 11, 1954, to the late Henry and Mary Frances Ansley Ryczywot, in Chicago, Illinois.

Susan was a determined and accomplished woman whose drive and compassion touched everyone she met. A true entrepreneur at heart, she owned and operated both a lounge and a delicatessen in Birmingham before deciding to pursue a new career and obtaining her bachelor’s degree in nursing. Known for her boundless generosity, Susan never hesitated to lend a helping hand or share what she had with those in need. She had an eye for beauty and style, delighting in shopping and collecting her many cherished pieces of jewelry. Susan had a tender heart for animals, especially her beloved cats.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas “Doug” Gossett; brothers, Gregory B. Ryczywot and Henry W. Ryczywot.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Madison Gossett and Christa Ryczywot; son, David Ryczywot; sister, Nancy Gonczy (Edward); brother, Jeffrey D. Ryczywot (Marie); special niece and nephew, Jennifer and Joey Ryczywot; several other, nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

In honoring Susan’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
