Mr. Warren Van Williams, 61, of Johnson City, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Ballad Hospice House.

He was born on November 18, 1963, to the late Charles Williams and June Kenny. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings.

Warren was an accomplished cook whose career began with Piccadilly Cafeteria in 1981, where his dedication and skill helped open 182 stores across the United States. In 1991, he made his home in Johnson City and joined the Peerless Steakhouse family as a prep cook, where he proudly worked for 27 years. Known for his steady hand and creative spirit, he could turn simple vegetables into stunning works of art, crafting lifelike animals that amazed all who saw them. Outside the kitchen, he enjoyed spending time in nature; hunting, fishing, and working with wood. His hard work, artistry, and kind spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Those left to cherish Warren’s memory are his long-time friend, Terry Barnett; friend, Pastor Anthony Jackson; special bud, Jonathan Pillow; caregiver, Stephanie Street; AHCN staff who were angels, Megan and Bianca.

A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.

Christine and I began getting to know Warren approximately a year ago. We quickly discovered he knew my dad (who is deceased) and had spent time with him at the Peerless and my dad’s farm. We quickly became friends with his kind spirit and friendly attitude. We learned more from him than he ever could have gained from us. He was a true gentleman and will leave a lasting impression on us.
