Mr. Pascal Lynn Lewis, age 68, Johnson City, took his final breath Monday, October 20, 2025, with his devoted father and his horsey by his side.
Mr. Lewis was born in Washington County, Tennessee on July 18, 1957, to Pascal Lewis, Jonesborough and the late Delores Stayer Lewis. Lynn was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Pauline Stayer Larimer, and paternal grandparents, T.F. & Ina Lewis.
Lynn’s love for animals extended beyond that of his beloved stuffed pal. He took much delight in the presence of a variety of critters, especially the equine and canine. Horses and dogs had the ability to elicit that big grin and hearty laugh from their non-speaking friend.
After spending his first twelve years at home with his loving parents, Lynn, who was differently abled and in need of specialized care, went to live at the Sunshine Center in Knoxville. Eventually he moved closer to home to the Greene Valley Developmental Center. Years later, he was deemed capable of living in a group home setting all of which were in Johnson City.
Lynn would return to Lewis Circle for monthly and weekend visits where he would enjoy his mom’s home cooking, attend church service on Sunday morning to drop his offering in the collection plate, and help his dad in his workshop hammering, sweeping and picking up nails. This experience would benefit Lynn when he became a part-time employee at Lowes, helping to keep things neat and tidy.
Although Lynn loved his time with his dad, he was very much a mama’s boy. “Mama, mama” was one of the few phrases he ever spoke, often when expressing his wish to call home to “talk“ to mom.
In addition to his father, survivors include two sisters, Angelia Lewis and Christa Lewis.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff members at JCMC who provided attentive care for Lynn in his final days. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of Core Services of Northeast Tennessee, who gave Lynn the opportunity to live his life to the fullest.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, October 24, 2025, at McCarty Cemetery with Pastor Tim Broyles officiating.
Pallbearers will be family & friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Washington County Animal Shelter or Special Olympics.
