Betty Ann Storey, 96, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 4, 2025.

Betty Ann was born on March 4, 1929, in the Conklin community to the late D. R. and Edna Katherine Cloyd and was youngest of nine children. She lived a life full of humor, love and kindness. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Preston Storey; eight siblings, Mary White (Clay); Eula Vines (Noah); Cleo Humphreys (Cecil); Frank Cloyd; Samuel Cyrus Cloyd (Katie); Letha Deakins (Stanley); Mildred Keplinger (Wayne), and John Cloyd (Jean). She greatly missed her two best friends, Betty Barnett and Betty Tester.

Betty Ann was the last living charter member of Embreeville Church of Christ. She and Preston devoted much time and work to the church. She was a faithful member until her health prevented her from attending church regularly. She loved the Lord Jesus and her church family.
She is survived by her children Kathy Storey and Richard Storey (Kim); grandchildren, Hilary Storey; Traci Potter (Ryan); step grandchildren Sean Hoyle, and Toby Hoyle (Amanda); great-grandchildren Reagan, Landon and Beckham Potter; and step great-grandson Avery Hoyle.

Betty Ann will be remembered for always cooking wonderful meals, devotion to her family, sense of humor, winning card games when she said she didn’t know what she was doing and loving to sing and play the piano. She will be remembered most for her selfless giving and kindness. Her grandchildren will forever cherish summers spent with her.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to her caregivers: Rita Garst, Kim Storey, Lena Tittle, SOFHA home health nurse Beth Smith and Amedisys Hospice. Special thanks to Christine Johnson for her loving care and compassion.

Visitation will be held at Embreeville Church of Christ on Monday, October 6, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm with a celebration of life to follow.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Dennis Keplinger, Brad McCracken, Ryan Potter, J. J. Casey, Sean Hoyle and Toby Hoyle. Honorary pallbearers will be John “Moe” Cloyd, Tom Keplinger, Ronnie Mullins, Terry Tittle, Mike Tester and Ricky Broyles.
