Mrs. Dorothy “Kate” Cox, age 94, of Telford, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

She was born on March 30, 1931, to the late Toney and Nellie Norton Blankenship.

Kate was a member of East Watauga Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Samuel Cox; son, Robert Stephen “Steve” Cox; sisters, Ola Dishman, Louise Dickenson, Dillie Garland, Sue Bacon, and Faye Edmisten; brothers, Ed Blankenship, Billy Joe Blankenship, Andy Blankenship, and Claude Blankenship.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Hodges (Jeff) of Telford; grandchildren, April Whitson (Bobby) and Jonathan Baldau (Karitsa); great-grandchildren, Mia Mobley (Hunter), Ethan Kerley, Isaac Baldau, and Emma Baldau; sister, Jan Wishon; brothers, Richard Blankenship (Judy) and Cecil Blankenship (Lilia); several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Maple Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Richard Blankenship officiating.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great grandchildren.
