Mr. Billy Mack Thompson, age 83, Jonesborough, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at his residence.

Mr. Thompson was born February 11, 1942, in Johnson City, Tennessee, to the late Howard David & Louise Street Thompson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geneva Thompson, twin brother, Bobby Thompson, brother, Kenneth Thompson, and a sister, Lois Norris.

He was a member of Bethel Church of Christ where he held many positions.

Mr. Thompson was a United States Air Force Veteran. He retired from the United States Postal Service and was a bailiff for the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of the Rhea Lodge F&AM #47.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Hensley Thompson, Jonesborough; daughter, Michelle Smith Curtis (Jay); son, Roger Dean Smith (Kim); sister, Patsy Crum; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; best friends, Joe McQueen and Bob South; and several nephews and nieces.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted 12:00 PM, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Bethel Church of Christ Church with Pastor Roger Dean Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 PM on Tuesday prior to the service.

Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
