
Mr. David Lee Doty, age 58, of Chuckey, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 30, 2025, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. His beloved wife of 28 years, Donna K. Doty, joined him in their eternal home later that evening.
David was born in Columbus, Nebraska, on June 13, 1967, to the late Ronald Sr. and Gladys Doty.
He enjoyed watching Nebraska football, riding motorcycles, and racing go-carts. David was a truck driver, and he truly loved his work. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Jonesborough.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Victoria “Vicki”, Michelle, Ronald Jr. and Mary Kay.
Survivors include children, Heather Roe (Brandon), Deborah Bedford (Franklin), Justin Weaver (Ashley), and Sandy Weaver; grandchildren, Elijah Roe, Arianna Roe, Braxton Bedford, Makayla Weaver, Isaiah Sharp, and Addison Weaver; sister, Pamela Cherry (Dusty); several nieces and nephews from South Carolina.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Roberts and Pastor David Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 (noon) until 3:00 PM, prior to the service.
A Memorial Service in South Carolina will be held at a later date.

David was one of a kind! He honestly was one of my best friends as a child! He never once made me feel like I didn’t matter, he would always have a smile on his face no matter what! Him and Donna will be missed and are loved so much!
