Mrs. Juanita Parker, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at her home.

She was born on March 2, 1939, to the late Robert and Sara Jobe Huffine.

Juanita was a teacher’s assistant and worked in the Mitchell County School System for over thirty years. She was the most generous person you would ever encounter. Her kindness was displayed through her thoughtful Christmas gifts, her baked pies and hand carried food to anyone who needed it. Juanita was a member of Red Hill Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was influential in many lives. Additionally, she was a 4H leader for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jim Parker; her daughter, Jeanine Parker; and brother, Robert N. Huffine.

Survivors include her children, Jimmy Parker (Sally) and Joanna Spencer (Lee); grandchildren, Amanda Cash (Odell) and Alecia Burgess (Rob Campbell); great-grandchildren, Maddi Burgess, Mason Burgess, Reagan Cash, Riley Cash, and Reese Cash; son-in-law, Paul Scholer; sister, Anne Kemp; other special extended family include, Addison Dietz, Abigail Milhorn, and Grayson Jaynes; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Mr. Bruce Woody and Rev. Jim Durham officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2025, at Red Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Bakersville, North Carolina. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Reagan Cash, Mason Burgess, Riley Cash, Mark Ledford, Tim Parker, and Chris Hughes.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Eric Deyton, Joel Deyton, Johnny Hughes, Tommy Parker, Steven Parker, and George Parker.

The family would like to thank, Becky Pond, Brandi Daniels, Cindy Wilbanks, Pat Blair, Thelma Pate, and Priscilla for the wonderful care they provided to Juanita.
