Carol Ann Williams

06/21/2025

Ms. Carol Ann Williams, age 70, Johnson City, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Agape Nursing Home.

Ms. Williams was born on July 24, 1954, in Unicoi County, Tennessee, to the late Raymond T. & Betty Keplinger Williams.

She graduated from ETSU with a degree in Public Health. Her life mission was to care for those who couldn’t care for themselves, specifically the mentally disabled. She loved people and loved serving in whatever capacity she could. In the front of her Bible she kept a note card with Matthew 20:26 written- “But whoever would be great among you must be your servant.” Carol loved the Lord and could light up any room with her joyful, playful spirit (and silly hats or hairdos!). Even in her last years at Agape, she was always looking for ways to help make life better for those around her.

She loved playing cards (especially UNO No Mercy), doing puzzles, and playing with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Richard Williams.

Survivors include her son, Anthony Williams and wife Kristy, Knoxville; grandchildren, Raegan, Tobias, and Lyla Williams, Knoxville; Brother Tom Williams and wife Lee, Knoxville; Niece Angie Hawkins and husband Dave, Knoxville. Nephews Tommy Williams, Knoxville and Chris Williams and wife Allison, Clanton, AL; and several great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Bethel Church of Christ, Jonesborough.

I'm so sorry Anthony and family. Carol always had a smile on her face as the picture of her shows. She lived with the heart of a Christian servant who deeply cared for others.

Carol and I became good friends after meeting at our church: New Life Christian Fellowship (now Life Assembly). She was a true friend who could keep you laughing or cry with you if you were sad. She was a single mother that raised a very strong Christian man. Carol was a faithful servant of Jesus for the 48 years that we were friends, even when she became physically disabled. She will be sorely missed, but I look forward to our reunion and spending Eternity with her. May the Peace of Jesus and Comfort of the Holy Spirit sustain your family, Anthony. Her legacy is her son and his family. Also, the many lives that she touched here on Planet Earth. Carol's was a life well lived! May God bless her family and friends. Charlene Elliott
