Damn Chris…. this one hits hard. All those years you were so good to me. You never gave me hell or argued over anything that I requested for my residents. You always made sure I was fed, even walking a plate to my cart to make sure that I had breakfast. If I was hungry you never argued and let me get an infamous FOHC pimento cheese sandwich, and if you were busy you’d let me make it myself, all without fussing at me for crossing the yellow square without a hairnet ? You always saved me a deviled egg if you could. You always listened and did whatever it took for the residents and did whatever you could to make them happy even though we would have a great time out back talking out it ? I’ll never forget all those years we spent at the picnic table or the milk crates outside of the kitchen door, or the bench behind the building and eventually the umbrella table. You were always my champion no matter the situation we discussed out back, and I looked up to you in so many ways. You never fussed when I couldn’t find a lighter and would snatch the one off the wall by the back door. You let me get ice whenever I wanted, and fussed at me for letting the lid slam shut ? I tried so very hard to be mindful of closing that damn thing just for you , even though it gave such joy to let it slam. I can still hear your voice, giving me life advice in the way only you could, straight up, honest and without a smidgen of sugarcoating but all the love. I will always remember when you tried to give me money to buy my baby diapers because they were giving him a rash. You are an amazing woman and you raised an amazing daughter. You were a constant from the day I walked in until the day I clocked out for the last time. I am so very grateful to have met you and to have been able to share the 13 years together we did. My heart is with your family and especially Mamaie ❤️ Fly High Chris, I will never forget you. ❤️
