Mrs. Ruth S. Tester, age 90, of Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton.

Ruth was born on August 7, 1034, to the late Wilburn and Mary Denton Swift, in Washington County, Virginia.

She was a seamstress for many years in Bristol at Gordon Garment.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Tester, a daughter, Mary Corral and a son, Darrell Tester. She was also proceeded in death by a brother, Wilburn “Bill” Swift and a sister, Ruby McVey.

Survivors include a son Robert “Bobby” Corral, a daughter, Mary Nell Skeens. She is survived by 7 grandchildren. Several nieces, a nephew and a sister-in-law also survive her.

Ruth requested there be no formal service. She chose to donate her body to Quillen College of Medicine.
