Charles Warren Chandley, age 85, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, in his home under hospice care.

He was born on March 20, 1940, and was the son of John “Frank” Chandley and Margaret Phillips Chandley.

Charles was retired from the United States Navy; VAMC Montgomery Alabama as Chief Environmental Officer, Jonesborough Post 9724 Commander, District 1 Commander, National Aide-De-Camp-2014-2015 and a Shriner Clown. He was very proud of his service in the military.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Carol Thornsburg Chandley; son, Jeffery Warren Chandley and wife, Laura “Dee” Chandley; one granddaughter, one great granddaughter and one great grandson.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, April 21, 2025, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Mountain Home National Cemetery.

Special thanks to Homestead for all their help, Teresa Sweet was a godsend, and to Gentiva Hospice Care Workers, all were wonderful and caring.

I was a friend of Charles all my life of 85 years. sorry for your loss. We went to school together at Bowmantown and Sulphur Springs. We rode our bikes all over the country.
