Mr. Maxwell “Max” Cloyd, age 95, of Telford, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at his residence.

He was born on August 29, 1929, in Washington County, to the late Lonnie and Ruth Williams Cloyd.

Max was a hardworking carpenter and farmer his entire life.

In addition to his parents, Max was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Cloyd; brothers, Gary Cloyd, Tommy Cloyd, and LG Cloyd; sisters, Virginia June Foster, Mary Ruth Hensley, Louise Miller, and Anna Jayne Cloyd.

Survivors include, son, Larry Cloyd (Faye Bernice); daughter, Sharon Holt; son, Tony Kyker; brother, Doyle Cloyd; grandsons, Timmy Cloyd (Katina), Cory Kyker, and Jesse Nease; great grandson, Ryan Cloyd (Alexa) and Devin Cloyd; great great-grandson, Nolan Cloyd.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30 PM, Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Dykes officiating.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer’s Association, 207 N. Boone Street, Suite 1050, Johnson City, Tennessee 37604.

Max, ,(George) will be greatly missed. When I did get to go visit, he would always be on his porch enjoying the weather and would always invite you up on the porch. I loved talking and cutting up with hím and hearing all of his wonderful stories of his days in big Telford. RIP

Max will be missed. Such a good person and I don't think he ever saw a stranger. Fly High and rest now Max, you've always been such a hard working man.
