I had the privilege to work with Dr Michael Radford for more than 20 years at the VA Medical Center in Johnson City Tennessee. On several occasions I got to meet Sandy, who would drop by to visit Dr Radford. The love they shared for each other was evident, as was the fact that Sandy was Mike's compass in life. Mike was always quieter in her presence and well behaved. Whenever I was with Dr. Radford for any extended period, Sandy or the children would always come up and his stories of them were filled with joy and pride. I am honored to have known the Radford family, if only vicariously, but I do know it was never dull at the Radford home. We will all miss Sandy but are comforted that she left our community and world a better place.

Mike and family, I won't be able to be there for the memorial service. But my thoughts will be with all of you. She may be done cooking here on Earth; but I'll bet she's up there in heaven cooking up a storm! She will be missed by many. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Sandy enhanced my life. I only met her twice in person but her long distance telephone love and wry humor and counsel enriched me. God holds and enfolds her.

Sandy was one of the first people who ever held baby Maria and she was always reassuring about life. So fun to be around.
