Mrs. Rita Frances Hicks, age 58, Jonesborough, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Hicks was born in Johnson City, Tennessee on July 15, 1966, to the late Sydney & Frances Buck Hicks. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Sydney Joe Hicks and Charles Ira Hicks and a sister, Donna Gail Hicks.
She was a File Tech for US Endodontics.
Survivors include her son, Matthew Jackson (Courtney), Blountville; grandchildren, Evie Marie and soon to be Eden Lee Jackson; brother, Michael Allen Hicks (Lisa) Jonesborough; sister, Peggy Ruth Tinker, Jonesborough; and several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Hicks Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
I loved talking about the glory days with you (highschool). You'll be missed gal, especially that big smile you blessed everyone with. God speed and we'll see you one day. It's never really good bye.
Rest in peace, Rita. I worked with you for almost 7 years, and from what you told me, you lived an awesome life and went to many a legendary concert. You will be missed dearly.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I worked with Rita for several years, she truly was loved but absolutely everyone, she had the most contagious laugh. I am truly so lucky to have known Rita. She will be so missed.
