Ms. Pauline Sykes, age 87, of Kingsport, passed away on November 20, 2024, at her home.

Pauline was born on July 28, 1937, in Clintwood, Virginia, to the late Ambrose and Faye Vanover.

She was of the Baptist faith. Pauline worked as a seamstress for Gordon Garment and L.C. King Manufacturing Co. She enjoyed reading and being around her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lois Vance and Peggy George, both from Bristol.

Survivors include her three daughters, Karen Sykes, of the home, Sharon Millsap, of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Lona Blevins, of Bluff City, Tennessee; sister, Helen Smithson, of Bristol; brother-in-law, Jerry George; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Per Pauline’s request her body was donated to Quillen College of Medicine. There will be no formal service at this time.
