Mrs. June Carswell, age 88, Gray, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Lakebridge Healthcare Center.

Mrs. Carswell was born on January 6, 1936, in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late, William Mitt & Eunice Hartley Holston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Frederick “Fred” Carswell.

She started her career in nursing until becoming a homemaker to take care of her family. She was a volunteer for the Washington County/Gray Library, which she loved.

Survivors include daughters, Dee Blalock (Allen), Donna Carson (Jim) and Dawn Proffitt (Shawn); son, David Carswell (Shannon); grandchildren, Lauren Logan, Leah Blalock, Justin Carson, Ashley Gorniewicz, Brittany May, Colton Carswell, Emma Carswell, Logan Proffitt and Chloe Proffitt; great-grandchildren, Natalie Seals, Walker Seals, Norah Logan, Zeke Logan, Logan May, Aubrielle May, Garrison May and Nolan Gorniewicz.

The family would like to thank all at Amedisys Hospice, the nurses and cna’s at Lakebridge Health Care Center, who loved on “Miss June” and took such great care of her.

Entombment services will be conducted 11:00 AM, Friday, November 8, 2024, at Washington County Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jim Carson, Justin Carson, Travis May, Shawn Proffitt, Logan Proffitt and Colton Carswell.
