John Franklin Wolford, III

Mr. John Franklin Wolford, III, age 42, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, in Johnson City from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

John Wolford was born in Kingsport, Tennessee on February 26, 1982, to John Wolford and Rebecca Nelson Wolford, of Piney Flats.

He was a long-term member of Piney Flats First Baptist Church.

John was a United States Army Veteran.

He loved his son and being an uncle, family was most important. He enjoyed riding horses, fishing, riding motorcycles, and his tractor.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his fiancé, Nadean Lacey; his son, John “Frank” Wolford IV; daughters, Macie Burnett and Joslyn Marcum; brother, Randy Bach (Laurie); sister, Christie Lewis (Glenn); nieces, Emily Lewis, Kristen Biggs (Ryan), and Kaili Bach; nephew, Eli Lewis; great niece, Abby Biggs; great nephews, Cayson Biggs and Teegan Wall.

Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Friday, October 18, 2024, at Piney Flats First Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Davis officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday prior to the service.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, October 19, 2024, at James Wolford Cemetery, 160 Barger Rd., Blountville, TN with Dr. Allen Davis and Tim Bellamy officiating.

The pallbearers will be Randy Bach, Travis Nelson, Glenn Lewis, Eli Lewis, Larry Lacey and Erby Brown. The Dog Tag Brigade Veteran, M.C. will serve as honorary pallbearers.
