Mrs. Anna Lois Black, age 91, passed away on Friday morning October 11th, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Anna was born to the late Alan Jackson and Laura Elisabeth Welch, on May 6, 1933, in Franklin, North Carolina.

She was an entrepreneur and had many jobs over her well lived life. She was a realtor of the National Realtors Association. Anna ran a ruby mine and a bed and breakfast. She also was a beautician. Anna was a Christian and proud member of the Democratic party. She was known by many as Nana and was an impactful woman to countless individuals.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert W. Black and Beauford Deck Welch; daughters Tava Ann Cook and Emma Lee Carter (Hickson); and many brothers and sisters.

As the family matriarch, she is survived by her daughter, Pamela Elaine Carter; granddaughter, Leah Charis Hickson; grandsons, Jonah Daniel Hickson (Katherine Crandall-Hickson and Willa Crandall-Hickson), Robert Guinn, and Logan Carter Vaughn; great grandsons, Iris Alan Kalisz and Robert Davis Gunnin (Shayleigh); son-in-law Steven Cook, best friend, Patsy Kitchen.

A Funeral Service will be held at 4pm, on Sunday, October 13th, 2024, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Reverend Tiffany Anderson officiating.
Anna will be privately laid to rest at Tellico Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin, North Carolina.

The pallbearers will be Steve Cook, Davis Gunnin, Jonah Hickson, Charis Carter.
