Mr. Freddie Joe Nelson, age 79, Jonesborough, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Four Oak Healthcare Center, where he was placed due to his home being evacuated by the flood.
Mr. Nelson was born in Jonesborough, Tennessee on March 4, 1945, to the late Andrew & Gladys Cash Nelson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Nelson, daughter, Jill Sturgill and a brother, Billy Nelson.
He was a truck driver for many years with Estes Express Lines and was a dedicated farmer for the majority of his life. He also loved fishing and hunting.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Nelson-Adams (Randy) and Tracy Nelson; grandchildren, Dustin Hawkins, Amber Nelson, Drew Cipro (Travis) and Angel Hawkins; one sister, Nancy Smith; special friends, Richard Story and Kevin Shaw; and several nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.

Sherry & Tracy, so sorry to hear about your dad. He was a fantastic man as well as my second cousin. I remember when all of you would come to visit my grandparents (John & Edith Nelson) I enjoyed playing with you guys when we were kids. Would love to see you both again and catch up on old times. Take care and always remember… we love all of you.
