Glen was a long-time member of Fairview Methodist Church where he enjoyed his Friends in Christ Sunday School Class and helping with the Men's Group BBQ dinners. He enjoyed surf fishing on the Outer Banks, camping in the Great Smokey Mountains, playing horseshoes, and spending time with family and friends, and with his beagle, Millie Main. Earlier in life he was a paramedic for Carter County EMS and for a private transport company in Washington County. Later he was Director of Hyperbarics at Norton Community Hospital. He left the medical profession to follow his passion for woodworking as the owner-operator of Briggs Custom Cabinets. Glen supported Tunnel to Towers, and St. Jude Children's Hospital during the last two years of his battle with cancer. He wanted them to find a cure for the children. He was a big man with a big, warm heart. Though I will always love him and I miss him terribly, I know he is resting comfortably now with Jesus.
