Phyllis Marie Lowe Sliger
09/20/2024
Mrs. Phyllis Marie Lowe Sliger, age 87, went to Heaven on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Sliger was born in Jonesborough, Tennessee on January 17, 1937, to the late Leslie Ray (L.R.) & Lola P. Dykes Lowe. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Ted, one sister, Dorothy White, sister-in-law, Lou Ann Lowe, and brother-in-law, Bill White.
She retired from First American Bank, where she made many friends.
Phyllis was known as “Pibby” to her family. She was a lady who loved to laugh. She brightened many lives with her zany stories.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Tammy Hartley; granddaughters, Ireana Williams (Mike) and Tonya Hartley; sister-in-law, Marie Lowe; several nephews and nieces; and a special friend, Marie Wilson. No one ever talked to Phyllis long without hearing stories of her wonderful great grandchildren, Hunter and Henry Williams and Ameeyah Hartley. Many times, she could be found running around the house playing “cops & robbers” with her great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Caleb Smith and nurse, April, the wonderful people of Second Avenue Baptist Church, and the wonderful caring staff of the Johnson City Medical Center, 3300 Floor and Life Care Center of Gray.
Memorial services will be conducted 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Knight officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday prior to the service.
