Mr. John Clinton Barbour Sr., age 93, of Limestone, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

John was born to the late John and Alice Herron Barbour, on January 17, 1931, in Scott County, Virginia. The only son with six sisters.

He worked alongside his son John Jr., doing transmission work. John loved drag racing and working on cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Barbour; infant granddaughter, Michelle Barbour; daughter-in-law, Judy Lynn Barbour; sons-in-law, James Miller and Gary Greer; four sisters.

Survivors include his son, John Barbour Jr.; daughters, Cathleen Jean Miller, Judy Carol Jones (Keith), and Susan Alice Howell; sisters, Arletha Newton and Ruth Drinnon (Rev. Neal); grandchildren, John Hugh, Beverly, Andrea, Joshua, Aleishia, Mary Beth, James, Curtis, Michael; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way.

The family will have a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home.
