Nellie Faye Miller, 92, known for her kindness & love of family, peacefully passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at her home in Jonesborough, TN.
Faye was born March 12, 1932, in Jonesborough to the late Ira Nathaniel & Mary Ruth (Jenkins) Buck. In 1953, Faye moved to Pennsylvania with her family. In 1976, Faye met her long-time companion, Tom Welsh (deceased), with whom she lived for over 40 years. In 2019, Faye returned to Jonesborough, where she resided until her passing.
Faye retired from a division of American Hospitals, EM Diagnostics, in April 1993, after 32 years of service.
Faye enjoyed quilting, cooking, country music, attending church, playing the keyboard & piano, and most of all, her family & friends.
She was a member of Boones Creek Christian Church Union Campus.
Survivors include her brother, Arthur (Brenda) Buck, Johnson City, TN, her children, Wayne Miller, Burnsville, NC & Steven (Joanne) Miller, Pottstown, PA; daughter-in-law, Joan Miller; grandsons, Anthony Miller (Rachel Shear) & Stephen Miller; granddaughters, Tammy Miller (Ruth Winsor) & Jennifer (Chris) Miller McClain; great granddaughters, Josephine (Hayden) Humphrey & Dominique Miller, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for a viewing from 2:00-3:00 PM, Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Boones Creek Christian/Union Church Campus, 3639 Cherokee Road, Jonesborough. Funeral services will be conducted immediately after with Minister Justin Davis officiating. Graveside services will follow at Union Cemetery. There will be a gathering for friends and family with food and beverages at the church following the service.
Flower donations should be delivered to Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home by 12:00pm on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
